Senjojiki

A stunning vista of extensive, white rock plateaus that extend against the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean. Over the centuries, the relentless crashing waves have sculpted the stone into a natural mat-like rock formation.

Toretore Market

One of the largest seafood markets found in Western Japan. It features a diverse range of fresh seafood sourced from across the country, along with local Wakayama specialties at competitive prices. In the "Toretore Yokocho" food court, guests can enjoy delightful seafood bowls and fresh local marine offerings.

Kumano Hongu Taisha

Listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range." Upon entering the shrine grounds, you will sense the essence of nature, the historical significance, and the tranquil passage of time. The Treasure Hall displays precious historical memorabilia, which includes the national Important Cultural Property known as the "Tetsu-yugama" (iron cauldron). The Zuihoden hall, inspired by the sacred three-legged crow Yatagarasu, offers a tea salon, café, and souvenir shop—providing an ideal location to unwind after your prayers.

Kumano Nachi Taisha & Seiganto-ji Temple

Kumano Nachi Taisha, a prominent shrine among the Kumano Sanzan grand shrines, is located partway up Mount Nachi and has its roots in ancient nature worship directed at Nachi Falls. At the summit of 467 stone steps, a striking vermilion-lacquered worship hall awaits, with six main hall buildings situated behind it in a serene environment. Within the premises lies a sacred giant camphor tree, aged 850 years, where visitors can partake in Tainai Kuguri (walking through the hollow trunk), a ritual representing spiritual rebirth. Adjacent to the shrine is Nachisan Seiganto-ji Temple. The three-story vermilion pagoda positioned behind the main hall offers an iconic and breathtaking view with Nachi Falls cascading in the backdrop.

Nachi Falls

Claiming the title of the tallest single uninterrupted drop in Japan, Nachi Falls is celebrated as one of the country's premier waterfalls. Above Nachi Falls, there are numerous waterfalls collectively referred to as the "Nachi 48 Falls," which served as training sites for Shugendo ascetics, with Nachi Falls itself honored as the "First Waterfall" (Ichi-no-Taki). Observing the water plunge 133 meters down the sheer rock face is an awe-inspiring experience.
