Tour Description
This 2-day bus excursion from Osaka offers breathtaking landscapes, cultural insights, and a soothing hot spring experience.
On the first day, journey to Onomichi and explore Senkoji Park, where the PEAK Observatory provides stunning panoramic views of the Onomichi Channel and the historically significant townscape, recognized as a Japan Heritage site. Take a picturesque drive along the Shimanami Kaido, celebrated as one of Japan’s most scenic coastal routes across the Seto Inland Sea.
Make a stop at Kirosan Observatory Park, a prime viewing location that boasts impressive views of the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge and the nearby islands. Visit the Imabari Towel Museum to appreciate its beautiful European-style gardens (note that admission to paid areas is not included).
In the evening, unwind at Okudogo Onsen, staying at Okudogo Ichiyu no Mori. Experience one of Western Japan’s largest open-air baths and savor a lavish buffet dinner featuring over 80 dishes, including freshly prepared steak, sushi, pasta, and a variety of desserts. Soft drinks are available for unlimited consumption. The following morning, breakfast is also served buffet-style.
On Day 2, enjoy leisure time in Matsuyama to visit the Dogo Onsen Main Building (a separate bathing fee of approximately 700 JPY) and the delightful Dogo shopping street, known as “Haikara-dori,” lined with souvenir shops and local dining options (most shops open from 9:00 AM).
Next, proceed to Kotohira-gu Shrine in Kagawa Prefecture, affectionately referred to as “Konpira-san,” a revered shrine dedicated to the guardian deity of sailors. You will have around 2.5 hours for shrine visits and lunch on your own. The shrine is well-known for its extensive stone staircase—785 steps lead to the main hall and 1,368 steps to the inner shrine. During your visit, savor local Kagawa specialties such as Sanuki udon.
The tour wraps up with scenic drives over the Onaruto Bridge and Akashi Kaikyo Bridge before returning to Umeda in the evening.
