DESCRIPTION
This unique 2-day excursion invites you to Izumo during the revered Kamiari Festival, recognized as one of Japan's most sacred religious occasions. In accordance with Japanese custom, millions of deities converge at Izumo Taisha for a week each year, creating a spiritually impactful time for visitors.
The tour features an extended visit to Izumo Taisha, where you will have the exclusive chance to explore Kamimiya Shrine, a holy site that welcomes worshippers only during the seven days of the Kamiari Festival. Prior to your arrival, your knowledgeable tour escort will share insights into the history, customs, and appropriate practices for worshipping, allowing you to fully engage with this extraordinary experience.
You will also travel to Inasa no Hama, the location where the deities are thought to arrive, and Yaegaki Shrine, famous for its matchmaking blessings as well as the well-loved Mirror Pond fortune-telling ritual.
Enjoy an overnight accommodation at the esteemed Kaike Tsuruya hot spring ryokan, with stunning views of Mt. Daisen and the Sea of Japan. Relax in the expansive indoor and outdoor hot spring baths and savor a meticulously crafted kaiseki dinner that showcases seasonal delicacies from San'in, including whole snow crab, fresh seafood sourced from Sakai Port, local beef hot pot, tempura, and various other regional specialties.
