- The distinctive funaya, featuring boat garages on the first floor and living quarters above, are recognized as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Unwind and enjoy the serene beauty of the clear bay and the historic coastal landscape.
Motoise Kono Shrine
- Explore the prestigious Tango Ichinomiya Motoise Kono Shrine, the most revered shrine in the region. Legend has it that the deities enshrined here—Amaterasu Omikami and Toyouke Omikami—were worshipped before being relocated to Ise, which is why it is referred to as "Moto Ise" (Original Ise). Don't miss the chance to try one of the shrine’s popular fortune slips (omikuji).
Manai Shrine (Inner Shrine)
- Located about a 10-minute stroll from Kono Shrine, you will find Manai Shrine, its sacred inner shrine. At the entrance, the famous Ame no Manai Spring is known for its pristine spring water. This shrine is celebrated as a spiritual power spot, believed to bestow blessings for love and positive relationships.
Amanohashidate Shrine
- Situated among the iconic pine trees of Amanohashidate, this lovely shrine is regarded as a popular spiritual destination, thought to bring good luck in love and relationships.
Chionji Temple (Monjudo Hall)
- Home to Monju Bosatsu, the Buddhist deity of wisdom, Chionji Temple is renowned for the saying, "Two heads are better than one." It is a prominent location for prayers concerning academic success, wisdom, and favorable learning outcomes.
