The Glove Gallery
Situated in Higashikagawa City, this location is recognized as Japan’s premier glove manufacturing area, producing over 90% of the nation’s glove supply.
As a component of the 2025 Setouchi Triennale, two pieces, “Everyone’s Hands: Let’s Knit Gloves That Reach the Moon!” and “The Story of Glove-kun,” were designed and showcased here.
Please be aware that the shop within the Glove Gallery might be closed.
Sanuki Izutsuya
This historic merchant house has roots in soy sauce and sake production dating back to the Edo period and has been transformed into a tourist site.
The structures, which span from the late Edo to the Meiji periods, maintain their traditional appeal. Wander through the former residence, which includes classic tatami rooms and a garden, then explore local delicacies at shops located in the old storehouses.
Otsuka Museum of Art
Here, you can appreciate approximately 1,000 life-size replicas of masterpieces from around 26 nations, meticulously recreated with cutting-edge ceramic panel technology. The collection features works ranging from ancient murals to contemporary paintings.
The museum also houses 11 pieces by Vermeer, whose existing works total only about 30 globally.
Lunch is not part of the tour. You are welcome to enjoy your meal at your convenience at one of the cafes within the museum.
