Togakushi Shrine
Situated at the base of the revered Mount Togakushi, Togakushi Shrine is made up of five distinct shrines—Okusha, Kuzuryu-sha, Nakasha, Hokosha, and Hinomiko-sha—and has a rich history that dates back over 2,000 years since its inception. The pathway from the entrance to Okusha, which goes through the Zuishin Gate and is bordered by cedar trees that are more than 400 years old, is an experience that everyone should have at least once. Many visitors report feeling revitalized and refreshed after their visit.
- Among the five shrines, we will explore the Main Shrine, Okusha [Good Fortune and Fulfillment of Wishes], Kuzuryu Shrine [Matchmaking], and Nakasha [Academic Success and Household Safety].
- The journey from the entrance to the Okusha approach (cedar-lined path) to Okusha takes approximately 40–50 minutes one way.
