Tour Description
Our journey begins at the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji, situated at an elevation of 2300 m above sea level, accessed via the winding Subaru Line Panoramic Road (the order of visits may vary due to operational considerations). If the weather cooperates, you'll have the chance to admire the surrounding landscape and possibly catch a glimpse of the summit of this revered mountain!
Following this stop, lunch will be served (if included in your meal plan). Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies at the time of booking.
Next, we will head to the Ōwakudani Volcanic Area, which showcases secondary volcanic activity, highlighting Japan's volcanic landscape. You will see fumaroles and sulfataras in every direction. Here, you can sample "kurotamago" (black eggs boiled in sulfur water)!
After exploring Ōwakudani, take the Hakone Ropeway down to Ashi Lake, where you can enjoy breathtaking views. A cruise across Lake Ashi is included, allowing you to appreciate the scenery from both above and from the water.
- If weather conditions are unfavorable or excessively humid, visibility of Mount Fuji may be limited or obscured. Please note that no refunds will be provided in such cases.
- If the Hakone Ropeway and the Hakone Pirate Ship are not operational for any reason, the tour will be redirected to one of the following alternative sites: Hakone Komagatake Ropeway, Hakone Lake Ashi Boat Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise, Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Mishima Skywalk, Odawara Castle, Hakone Venetian Glass Museum, Hakone-en Aquarium, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Checkpoint, Hakone Shrine, and others.
The tour will proceed regardless of these changes, and no refunds will be issued for this reason.
- If you prefer to disband at Odawara Station and return to Tokyo via bullet train (ticket provided by the guide), please select the "return with bullet train" option.
- If you already possess a Japan Rail Pass and wish to return to Tokyo using it, select the "Disband at Odawara or Hakone" option and notify the guide on the day of the tour.
The tour guide will not accompany passengers on the bullet train from Odawara to Tokyo for operational reasons. However, the guide will share essential information with guests before boarding the train.
This tour offers a blend of traditional and local experiences, providing stunning views of Fuji and Hakone while traveling on the ropeway and sightseeing ferry. In the coastal castle town of Odawara, our local guides (Attenjers) will lead you to an observation deck with views of Odawara City, Sagami Bay, the Hakone mountain range, and Odawara Castle. Afterward, explore Odawara Castle and wander through the town with insights from your guide. When hunger strikes, we’ll take you to a local restaurant representative of Odawara. With Attenjers present, ordering will be stress-free! Then, enjoy a second local experience where you can engage with residents—an entirely satisfying plan!
