Experience the best of summer in Japan with a refreshing getaway to Mt. Fuji and Yamanashi, known as the “Fruit Kingdom.” This tour combines natural wonders, local flavors, and seasonal delights in one perfect day.
Begin your journey at Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station, which is located at an elevation of 2,305 meters. Even during the summer months, the temperature is pleasantly cool, creating an ideal escape from the heat of the city. Enjoy a leisurely walk, take in panoramic views above the clouds, and explore sites such as Komitake Shrine and the surrounding trails. Make sure to take the opportunity to shop for unique souvenirs or taste freshly baked Mt. Fuji melon bread.
Next, explore one of Mt. Fuji’s renowned ice caves—either the Narusawa Ice Cave or the Fugaku Wind Cave. With an average annual temperature of just 3°C, these caves provide a magical, otherworldly atmosphere. Be amazed by the illuminated ice formations and experience the naturally cool air within this designated national natural monument.
For lunch, indulge in a traditional Yamanashi dish: pumpkin houtou hot pot. This comforting meal, featuring thick noodles, vegetables, and a rich miso broth, is a cherished local favorite and has been famously referenced in Japanese literature.
Conclude your experience with a delightful fruit-picking opportunity in Yamanashi. Depending on the season, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat fresh fruits directly from the farm:
- Departures from May 25 – June 21: Cherry Picking
- Departures from June 22 – July 31: Peach Picking & All-You-Can-Eat Chilled Peaches in the Field
- Departures from August 1 – August 31: All-You-Can-Eat Kyoho Grape Picking
