Yobuko Morning Market
As one of Japan's three prominent historic morning markets, this lively market is located along a picturesque fishing port. It is well-known for its fresh seafood—especially squid—providing visitors with a genuine insight into local maritime traditions and coastal cuisine.
Nagoya Castle Ruins & Nagoya Castle Museum
Discover the remarkable historic site of Nagoya Castle, built in 1591 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Guests can stroll through the splendid original stone walls while enjoying expansive views of the ocean. The nearby museum features informative exhibits that highlight the history of diplomatic relations and cultural exchange between Japan and the Korean Peninsula.
Squid Cuisine
Karatsu and Yobuko are renowned throughout Japan for their fresh squid (Ika). You will have the opportunity to savor 'Ika no Ikizukuri'—a delicately translucent, live-prepared squid served immediately after being caught. It is exceptionally sweet and crunchy! The remaining parts are often transformed into crispy tempura.
