Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was established in 1954 on the grounds of an open field that was created following the atomic bombing in 1945. The park features striking white architecture intertwined with vibrant greenery and plant life. At the heart of the park stands an arc-shaped monument, which serves as the primary location for the annual Peace Memorial Ceremony.

Atomic Bomb Dome

This dome was the structure closest to the epicenter of the explosion that managed to retain its form, although the initial damage is still visible. The weathered outline sharply contrasts with the immaculate appearance of other areas within the park, acting as a tangible reminder of the city’s history marked by devastation and a future focused on advancement.

Hiroshima Peace Park VR

In this distinctive experience, you will pause at various locations to don your VR headset and be taken back in time. Drawing from the accounts of atomic bomb survivors and historical photographs, the VR simulations enable you to witness Hiroshima's landscape prior to the bombing, the scorched terrain of August 6th, and the city’s remarkable revival.

Peace Memorial Museum

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum primarily showcases artifacts from the atomic bombing to illustrate the grim realities of that period and the threats posed by nuclear armaments. While some exhibits might be unsettling, the museum provides a balanced and profoundly human perspective on the destruction experienced by Hiroshima and the reasons behind its selection as a target.
