Tour Description
Gather in front of the Suica Penguin Statue located on the pedestrian deck known as Suica Penguin Plaza, which can be found on the 2nd floor of the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal Building adjacent to JR Shinjuku Station. After meeting your tour guide, you'll take a short 5-minute walk to the Odakyu Line terminal at Shinjuku Station. You will board an Odakyu Odawara Line train to Fujisawa with your guide. From Fujisawa, you'll ride the popular Enoden train (operated by Enoshima Electric Railway) to the Kamakura area along the beautiful Pacific coast. With the Enoshima & Kamakura Freepass, you can enjoy unlimited rides on the Enoden train until the conclusion of the tour.
Before arriving in central Kamakura, you'll stop by Hase-dera, known as the temple of flowers. Here, you can explore its stunning garden, caves, Buddhist halls, and a panoramic terrace overlooking the bay.
Your next destination will be the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in Temple, a symbol of the city. You'll have ample time to admire this impressive statue and appreciate its intricate details.
Finally, you'll ride the Enoden again to reach Kamakura station and stroll along the vibrant Komachi Street leading to Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu, the shrine dedicated to the deity of war. At this location, you will gain insights into the significance of the samurai government in Kamakura's history.
The tour concludes at this shrine, after which you are free to enjoy the afternoon in Kamakura or select from various options available.
