History of "Kotobuki-kai"
In 1734, Shinchi Nijo established a teahouse named Kamishichiken in the eastern part of the Nijo River. This teahouse, however, was closed down in 1887.
During its operation, teahouses showcased the characters "寿" (Kotobuki), "栄" (Sakae), "東" (Higashi), and "泉" (Izumi) on their noren (shop curtains) throughout the day and on their lanterns at night to signify their status as officially licensed establishments.
Following the war, the Onshukai, a traditional performing arts event, was promptly reinstated. To transform it into a study group suitable for a new era, the name "Onshukai" was adopted by selecting the character "寿" from "Kotobuki Nakama" (the Kotobuki group), leading to the revival of the Onshukai.
The performance will be available for only 7 days from 2026/11/12-18!

Schedule:
120 minutes performance will be held daily at 16:00 between 2026/11/12-18.
- The venue opens approximately 30 min. before the performance starts.
Eligibility:
- All participants must be 7 years old or older.
- This is ticket only, not a tour.
- Drinking alcohol during the show is not allowed.
- Please note that bringing large luggage to the theater.
- Theater do not have parking facilities available. We recommend using public transportation.
