Gion Matsuri Festival

During traditional festivities, the Deity is transported from its regular shrine to a designated location and returned once the celebration concludes. The magnificent parade, known as the Procession, takes place on July 17th and 24th, winding through the streets of Kyoto. This is the highlight of the Gion Matsuri festival. • Depart Kyoto Tourist Information Cener. Walk around to see the beginng of the parade. (10-20min)
• Transfer to City Hall Station from Shijo Station by Subway. (10 min)
• 17th: 10:20-11:30 24th: 9:30-10:50 Enjoy Gion Matsuri Festival Procession (60min/ticket included)
• 17th: 11:40 24th: 11:00 Walk through Teramchido-ri to Nishiki Food Market. (15min)
• 17th: 12:00 24th: 11:30 Tour finish at front of Nishiki Food Market.
