Kyoto Tour: Arashiyama Bamboo Grove

When in Kyoto, don’t miss the opportunity to take stunning photos in the legendary Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Immerse yourself in the stunning landscape while discovering why this site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our journey begins at the Tenryu-ji Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll witness the elegance of traditional Japanese gardens and the essence of Zen, which has been meticulously maintained for over 700 years. After exploring the temple's peaceful grounds, we will head to one of Kyoto’s most captivating locations—the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. As you stroll through this enchanting environment, your guide will share insights into the profound connection this stunning forest has with its UNESCO World Heritage status, allowing you to appreciate the balance between natural beauty and cultural significance.

The tour also features a walk past the guide’s favorite kawaii (cute) character shops and local souvenir boutiques. Guests are encouraged to pause and explore Kyoto’s renowned matcha sweets, delicate wagashi (traditional Japanese confections), and intricately designed bamboo-themed artisan products—ideal mementos to enhance your Arashiyama adventure.

Your guide will lead you across Togetsukyo Bridge and into the Monkey Park area, where the guided portion of the tour comes to an end. If you wish to visit the Monkey Park, you are free to embark on a self-guided hike at your leisure. Please be aware that entrance to the Monkey Park is not included.
