This special cultural program located in Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, allows you to experience the unique sound of Taiko drums that resonate with the spirit of Japan. Your experience begins with making your own original bachi (drumstick), considered an indispensable 'partner' (aibo) when playing Taiko.
With the bachi you have specially prepared, you will play the "Uto Amagoi Taiko," which has been preserved since the Edo period and is recognized as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset. Thanks to lessons provided in a cheerful and entertaining manner by a professional guide, by the end of the approximately 90-minute session, all participants will be able to play the Amagoi Taiko. Additionally, the bachi you made will remain as a souvenir from your journey.
