Onshukai
Onshukai is a distinguished showcase of classical Japanese dance (Nihon Buyo) paired with traditional live music.
Initially held in 1895, this genuine autumn celebration features the Geiko and Maiko from Gion Kobu, the most renowned geisha district in Kyoto, revealing the results of their daily artistic training.
Taking place every October for a brief span of six days, it provides an elegant contrast to the grand spring event, Miyako Odori. The emphasis is solely on high-art Kyomai (Kyoto-style dance) supported by live shamisen (traditional lute) and vocal performances.
The performers and repertoire vary each day, showcasing the delicate, refined movements of the esteemed Inoue-ryu dance school.
Every artist presents a culmination of a year filled with rigorous preparation and commitment, bringing to life classic folklore and the beauty of the seasons.

The performance lasts approximately 2 hours.
Performance Schedule
Performances take place daily between October 1, 2026, and October 6, 2026:

Doors Open
Doors open 60 minutes before the performance (15:00). Please arrive with plenty of time to spare.
Product Details
This includes the entry ticket only. Tour services (such as a guide) are not included.
Luggage
Please refrain from bringing large luggage (such as suitcases) into the venue, as there is no storage space.
Access
There is a coin-operated parking lot ("Yasaka Parking") on the site of the Kaburenjo Theater, but capacity is extremely limited (only 15 spaces).
Parking spaces cannot be reserved in advance, so please use public transportation (train or bus) whenever possible.
Wheelchair Access
If you plan to visit in a wheelchair, please contact us in advance. Please note that there is no elevator to the 2nd-floor seating area.
Photography & Recording
Photography, audio, and video recording are strictly prohibited inside the theater.
Cancellations and Changes
This product is non-refundable, and a 100% cancellation fee applies immediately upon purchase. No changes, cancellations, or refunds are permitted for customer personal reasons.
Scope of Compensation
In the unlikely event that you are unable to enter the venue due to reasons attributable to our company or the facility, compensation shall be strictly limited to a refund of the ticket price (or exchange for an equivalent ticket).
