Tenjinmatsuri Fireworks Festival

Considered one of Japan's three major festivals, alongside Kyoto's Gion Matsuri and Tokyo's Kanda Matsuri, Tenjinmatsuri has its origins in the 10th century and takes place every year on July 24-25. The key events include a land procession and a river procession, with fireworks scheduled for the second day, July 25.

• Trains are the only means of transportation to the site; other means are not permitted.

• We recommend that you use public transportation as the area in and around Osaka Tenmangu Shrine will be very crowded.
