This excursion will take you to Cape Kamui, located on the Shakotan Peninsula. Travel along route 229 and witness breathtaking views of cliffs and unique, rugged rocks. Explore “Shimamui Coast” and “Cape Kamui,” which are the main attractions of the Shakotan Peninsula. The vista from Shimamui Coast, recognized as one of the top 100 coasts in Japan, is considered the finest view in the Shakotan Peninsula, offering sweeping panoramas of emerald green waters.

In Bikuni, you will have the opportunity to embark on the Glass bottom boat cruise, the “New Shakotan.” This cruise accommodates 78 passengers and navigates through the Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Quasi-National Marine Park, where you can observe the stunning underwater scenery from beneath the boat. If the water clarity permits, you may spot sea urchins and a variety of fish. Additionally, passengers can feed the numerous seagulls that accompany the boat.

A local legend suggests that any vessel carrying women will sink if it attempts to pass by Cape Kamui, which historically forbade the presence of women.

• Bikuni Shakotan Glass Bottom Boat Cruise [60 min] (Optional/pay on site) 〇Adults ¥2,200 〇Children ¥1,100 〇Concerning the operation of the Shakotan Glass Bottom Boat will be cancelled in case of any of the following events: winds exceeding 8 meters/hr in Bikuni Port, waves exceeding 0.5 meters, and/or visibility less than 300 meters. 〇Feeding the seagulls is recommended. (It is included in the boarding fee) 〇The glass boat ride takes 40 minutes.
• ★ Alternative Route (If the glass-bottom boat is cancelled) After visiting the Shimamui Coast, please head directly to Michi-no-Eki (Rest Area) Space Apple Yoichi. Please advise the passengers to take a restroom break before departing from the Shimamui Coast. Please note that the arrival time will be approximately one hour earlier if the glass-bottom boat is cancelled.
