Ganryujima

Anyone with a background in martial arts or an interest in Japan is likely familiar with Miyamoto Musashi, renowned as the greatest swordsman in samurai lore. This uninhabited island spans approximately 103,000 m2 and is situated in the Kanmon Strait.

Karato Market

Renowned for being a top market for pufferfish (fugu), as well as sea bream and yellowtail, this vibrant and bustling market offers visitors a taste of local fishing traditions.

Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel

This distinctive two-tiered undersea tunnel extends 780 meters and links Honshu (Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi) with Kyushu (Moji, Fukuoka). Established in 1958, it forms part of National Route 2, providing a pathway for both pedestrians and cyclists to traverse beneath the Kanmon Strait.

Mojiko (Moji Port)

A wonderful spot for leisurely walks, photography, and immersing oneself in the history of early 20th-century Japan.
