Immerse yourself in the traditional Japanese craft of calligraphy in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This workshop presents a distinctly Japanese approach to mindfulness, providing an opportunity for you to unwind, concentrate, and appreciate the soothing flow of brush and ink. It caters to all, including children and those new to the art.
Your experience will commence with a change into traditional Japanese attire before diving into the workshop. You will begin by grinding a solid inkstick to produce genuine ink, allowing yourself a moment to pause and engage with the art form. Following this, you will learn fundamental brush techniques to become familiar with the brush. Ultimately, you will convert your name into kanji and craft your own unique calligraphy piece to take home as a cherished memento.
As an additional option, you can also inscribe your kanji directly onto a T-shirt, creating a unique item to bring back with you. This activity offers a delightful way to connect with Japanese culture and produce a personalized keepsake from your visit to Japan.
