Experience the long-standing traditional art of geta production in the city of Hita, Oita Prefecture, with your own hands. You will personally practice the skill of attaching the cords (hanao) used on wooden geta sandals.
With the guidance of master craftsmen, you can choose your favorite hanao and create a unique pair of geta that is truly your own. This activity allows you to open the doors to a craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation since the Edo period.
