Grape Picking Experience at “Ousama no Budou Ryokoumura Farm”

At Ousama no Budou Ryokoumura Farm, grapes are grown with a focus on organic fertilizers and natural pollination techniques. This approach ensures that you can savor the grapes' naturally rich and flavorful essence.

During the experience, you will have the opportunity to pick one bunch of Shine Muscat grapes and one bunch of regular grapes, complemented by a delightful treat of “Frozen Grapes.”

Please Note:

  • The types of grapes available for picking may change with the seasons.
  • The tour may be canceled due to growing conditions. Your understanding in advance is appreciated.

Oita Specialty Lunch

Conger Eel (Hamo) is a nutritious fish recognized for its light and delicate flavor. In the summer months, hamo has lower fat content and firmer flesh, providing a refreshing taste.

Oita Ajiichi Green Onions are a distinct branded vegetable from Oita Prefecture. Even after cooking, they maintain a crunchy texture and develop a naturally sweeter flavor. Experience them in Negi Shabu-Shabu, where the green onions are lightly cooked in a hot pot.

Menu:

  • Hamo Rice Bowl with a sweet and savory soy sauce glaze
  • Oita Ajiichi Green Onion Shabu-Shabu
  • Dango-jiru (Oita-style dumpling soup)
  • Small Side Dish

Please note that the menu is subject to change based on ingredient availability on the day of the tour.

Usa Shrine – The Head Shrine of Hachiman Shrines

Among the roughly 110,000 shrines throughout Japan, over 40,000 are dedicated to Hachiman. Usa Shrine serves as the principal shrine for all Hachiman shrines and has a history spanning approximately 1,300 years.

The First Main Sanctuary was established in 725 to enshrine Hachiman Okami, the divine spirit associated with Emperor Ojin. The Second Sanctuary is dedicated to Hime Okami, and the Third Sanctuary honors Empress Jingu.

Usa Shrine is one of only 16 Imperial Chokusaisha shrines in Japan, which receive special visits from imperial envoys known as Chokushi.

The shrine is believed to provide various blessings, including protection from misfortune, good fortune, family safety, road safety, and success. Notable spiritual power spots include the large camphor tree in front of the main sanctuary, Meoto Ishi (Married Couple Stones), and Negai-kake Jizo.

Ajimu Winery – Award-Winning Japanese Wine

Ajimu Winery produces premium grapes and rich, aromatic wines by utilizing the region's unique climate, characterized by considerable temperature variations between day and night.

At the Japan Winery Awards 2025, Ajimu Winery achieved the top honor of 5 Stars. This recognition marks the winery’s seventh consecutive year of receiving the award since 2019, and in 2025, it was the only winery in Western Japan to earn this accolade.

Surrounded by lush greenery, the winery includes wine production facilities, cellars, vineyards, and a shop. Guests can wander the grounds, observe the winemaking process, and partake in wine tasting.
